BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics

The next topic I would like to address is a new concept car from the hands of BMW. It is their vision on the future and you can see this in the design of the car.


It's very slick very sporty looking design is not only very futuristic, it is also a demonstration of some great craftsmanship and technology . From a design perspective I think this is a nice vision, from where the car gets its name. The amount of work that went into the lill details is unbelievable. My favorite features are the lights and also the rims of the car. Also the colors are very appealing.

The bad thing is that the commercial version of this car probably won't look as cool and futuristic as this car just cuz maybe the world might not be ready for it.

At least I am.

So it has been a while since I last posted a blog entry, so here I am.

So I was randomly surfing the web when suddenly I saw this amazing video, I didn't know exactly what it was or how it worked, but I realized this might be the future of design.

Electro active polymers are a new kind of polymers (for who doesn't know what this is, the different kinds of plastics for example). But electro active polymers are special in every single way. When you change the electrical impulses, the material will change shape. Scientist already seen what this means, they can be used as artificial muscles. Because our muscles are controlled first of all by the brain that sends impulses, well with the electro active polymers it's exactly the same but then with electricity.

Scientist already realized how important this materials will be in the future, but for us designers it is even more important, it just opens a new window full opportunities.
